Barry A. Kozyra Reappointed as Nutley Planning Board Attorney

February 02, 2018

Kozyra & Hartz, LLC is proud to announce that on January 3, 2018 founding Member Barry A. Kozyra was reappointed to the Township of Nutley Planning Board by Mayor Joseph Scarpelli as Board Attorney for a record thirteenth consecutive term.  As Board Attorney, Mr. Kozyra is responsible for representing the Board as to site plan, major subdivision and minor site plan applications as well as the creation of policies for the future redevelopment of the Township. In 2012 he represented the Board as counsel in the preparation and adoption of the Township Master Plan, an especially important roadmap for the redevelopment of the former Hoffman-LaRoche site (now renamed On3) which was purchased by Prism Capital Partners of Bloomfield in 2016.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to represent the Board and Township of Nutley as Board Attorney. The 116 acre On3 campus is a unique land use redevelopment opportunity as it involves two municipalities (Nutley and Clifton) and two counties (Essex and Passaic). The property location in proximity to airports, highways, rail lines and being only 12 miles from New York City make it an easy choice for major institutions of learning and business (a new Seton Hall - Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine as well as Seton Hall University's nursing and allied health services programs and Modern Meadow, bioleather developers to name a few). On3's repurposing of buildings and the campus promises to make Nutley an exciting and central part of the revitalization of the property."

Congratulations Barry!!!!
