Mr. Peduto was a graduate of New York University, College of Arts and Sciences (B.A. 1971) and New York University School of Law (American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Law) (J.D. 1974). Upon graduation, Mr. Peduto served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Milton B. Conford, then Presiding Judge for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, and temporarily assigned to the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Mr. Peduto was a former Deputy Attorney General for the Division of Law, where he represented various state agencies and was Section Chief for the Consumer Affairs and Energy Section, which handled consumer fraud and security investigations and related civil actions and represented the Board of Public Utilities in rate-making, regulatory and appellate matters. In private practice, Mr. Peduto was primarily involved in civil and family law litigation (divorce, custody and visitation, domestic violence and antenuptial agreements) with a focus on commercial litigation, including construction cases (representing owners, contractors, subcontractors, architects and engineers), business/contract disputes and business breakups, such as minority shareholder oppression actions and partnership dissolutions.
